Hi,

I'm about to get a new MacBook Pro.
Company policies demand, that there is C: for XP and D: for all Windows programs.

How is the best way to get this up and running?
It would be nice, if I could access D: from the Mac and the Mac partition if booted from C:

And will this setup also work with Fusion and Parallels?

Hi Ralph,

Great question, I love these head scratchers smile.gif The C:/D: drive configuration shouldn't be an issue, just follow the beginning instructions of the "Tri Boot: OS X, Vista, XP" up to step 11. Once you've installed XP, you can just boot into windows and format the other partition as FAT32 (not NTFS if you'd like to write to it from OS X).

Having a look at the tech specs and a few a forum questions regarding Fusion and Parallels, I can't find any reference to the ability to have 2 HD's on one Virtualized OS... This initially lead me to believe that it may not be possible, but after some pondering I am not totally convinced now. Once you have the virtualized windows setup with Fusion/Parallels Tools installed, you gain access to all the hard drives/partitions on the machine, so there is still a good possibility that this might work without a hitch. Long story, short; It's definately worth a try and I hope you'll let me know how this part works out. I'm very curious now.

Regards,
Mat
